So we were down 10 people from last years new years party. I just wasn't able to retain my party goers RSVP's for the Sunday New Years Party. Some have moved away, some had to work, some had trouble making it on a sunday and some had no excuse :)
Kevin and Evan showed up after 2 and we played Guild Wars untill 6pm when the Cowleys arrived and we ALL stopped playing computer games and played some card games. I learned a new game, Wizard, which I thought was a great game. Can't wait to introduce it to Family members. It could replace phase 10, but it's not likely. The music was lame and Dave was the only one drinking other than me but everyone was sitting around the table playing games, talking and chowing down on wendys homemade sushi platters and the store bought bean dip platter. We played several games of pool, it was nice to put it to use.
The Tenneys took the party in shifts, Lori came for an hour or so at 6 and then went home and then Nate came over after they put the kids to bed and stayed with us through the new year... it was nice to see them both, wish it could of been simultaneously, but at least they we able to come.
I did expect the Hawaiians, but they were probably served free beer at Google. And a few more said they'd come for the night party but bummed out on us.
So only 7 people at any one time at our little shin dig. Small but fun. We were able to actually sit and hang out together and play games which was nice. It was a lot more casual than some of my previous parties, I was able to relax a bit.
People stayed for a few more games after midnight, which was great. Kevin stayed till 3:30am and played some more guild wars with us after half of the party left. Evan brought his jammies and stayed all night so he could wake up and play guild wars the next day. All us guildies got lots of presents and finished some christmas quests up. It was a great Guild Wars Wintersday Event.
So small parties can be fun too!!
Though no one was there to do tequilla shots with me at 9am :(
