Oh, Cowboy Curtis!

Yes, so Lawrence Fishburne was a regular on Pee Wee's Play House also. BUT he appeared as the gay cowboy! Who would've thought that I was a Lawrence Fishburne fan from such a young age. Oh! Cowboy Curtis!

Hard to think that he may have never been Morpheous without the career stepping stone that was PeeWee's Play House.

Thank you, thank you comedy central for airing these so I can tivo the insanity that was childrens programming at one time.

Camp Fire is Rolling Along

I called the Mid Columbia Library today and was happy to discover that yes, my club can use the meetings rooms there. I'm so excited about that! The one on Union is probably the most central location for all of the intereseted parties so it should work out nicely.

I recieved another guide book, this one is for the younger group of kids 3-5, Little Stars. It looks fun and the little patches the kids earn are so cute.

So if you don't know too much about campfire, it's a club like boy scouts except that it is co-ed. Their program philosophy is: 1. They are youth centered. 2. They engage the entire family in fun and outcome-rich activities. 3. They are welcoming and inclusive. 4. They build youth and adult partnerships. 5. They provide service to others.

The kids go through trails to earn an emblem. One trail takes about 3 meeting plans to finish.
"The Trail to Knowing Me" is the first trail in the Little Stars Packet which includes 3 meetings... My family and me, I am one of a kind and I'm growing everyday... which are all great projects to work with 3-5 year olds on. And the art projects involved will be a tremendous help with the Little Stars motor skills.

Yippie I'm Turning 27 in a Few Minutes!

Yippie I'm 27 in a few mintues! Well I guess I was born in the afternoon, from what I hear, in time for my mom to watch Days of Our Lives afterwards. I have to honestly say, this year was the first year I actually feel older on my birthday. Not sure if it's the routine, kids or the home ownership. But I definately feel tired and old. I get to do lots of fun things now though, like watch my kids do gymnastics and the oldest prepare to head off to Kindergarten... yes I will cry that day. And I get to drive to Salem and go to a Cake concert :) and Start a CampFire Club in the Area and have big parties at MY house.

hehe, Pee Wee's playhouse is on TV right now, interrupting my blog posting. I loved that show when I was a kid. I'm always astonished seeing Phil Hartman on it as Captain Carl.

Anyway, Happy Birthday to me!

Oh yeah, It's Jamie's birthday too!!! Happy Birthday to Jamie, she's 30 today! And I thought I feel old.

Pull Those Purse Strings Tight!

Well Ken and I are going to a CAKE concert this month the tickets were expensive and we'll have to drive quite a way as well which will push us over the financial edge. So, I've tightened the purse strings and have to spend way less on groceries than we usually do. It's pretty much meat, salad, veggies and for the kids... bread and cereal and milk. No extras. Which probably is a good thing, but tough none the less.

The sweater I started knitting at the craft night last month is a sleve away from completion and that will be my gift to Cierra for her birthday, which will save us a little there... and be a gift that I slaved over for hours and hours :)

I'll have to get a cake and a bit of alcohol for my mom's birthday, that'll have to come out of the grocery money. She really likes Drop Kick Murphys so I'll have to get her a CD, shhh no one tell her. I have left over decorations from my father-in-laws 50th so we'll get some use out of those as well.

Chloe got a lot of hand me downs from Ezri. So other than just a handfull of school supplies we'll save a lot of money there. It seems that Pasco has better funding than other districts in the area, so we get a much shorter supply list than the others and a full lunch is a dollar less. Just goes to show you that a school district can use Linux to run it's network and survive pretty good without microsoft "donations".

Anyway, if we turn down any "going out to eat" invitations it's not because we don't like you... We just really like CAKE!

I guess I didn't do to bad since it's been what, 14 yrs since 8th grade and 7 yrs from any type of schooling.

Wonderfull Weekend

Like it says in the title, it was a wonderfull weekend. Started by cleaning the house really good on Friday, it still looks pretty nice. I bought an ice cream maker and made berry sorbet which was quite tasty. Ken and Joan came to dinner that night. We played some pool and introduced Settlers of Catan to them. It was probably one of the longest basic Settlers game I've ever played but it was still fun just hanging out and chatting. I made Joan some peanut butter toast and hot chocolate to dip it in. It's like peanut butter cup toast... it's so yummy. That may have made my weekend right there.

Saturday and Sunday were both very relaxed. I wore my jammies all day Saturday. I got a lot of laundry done and some dishes and sorted some old toys out of the kids pile, for future yard sale fodder. The weather was nice at a cool 95 degrees with a cool breeze in the air. I played Guild Wars from 5pm to 1am with lots of friends online. I slept in on Sunday. The kids were so good all day. They quietly played with their toys in their rooms most of the day. We could hear them playing house and school. Nic played with his wooden train set and blocks occasionally joining his sisters in their "pretend" play time. Ken and I watched the Hydroplane races on TV which most of the morning was too windy for any racing but this afternoon was exciting. The air show jets made frequent turns by our house so the kids got to see the jets occasionally. I finished stacking the blocks I had bought, I need about 20 more to finish the one wall on the left side of the yard. I mowed the lawn and made a fantastic garlic parmesan chicken dinner.

I've had a fantastic weekend!

I have lots of birthdays and parties comming up to keep track of. Donalds was last Saturday, my brother turns 25 tomorrow, Evans boy turns 9 on Tuesday, I turn 27 Thursday, Kennys cousin (Tyler) has a birthday Friday, my niece (cierra) turns 5 on the 8th, I have a craft party here on the 9th and my mom turns 50 on the 12th. So ya I have a lot of events, specifically birthdays, the next few weeks. I think probably the only ones we'll really celebrate are Cierras and my mom's big 5-0.
