The Babysitter

I was the babysitter this week. I like to be helpfull, so I always say yes when it comes to babysitting. Not to mention, I like to have the luxery of a babysitter anytime I need one. But with all the yard work on my plate, having both Max and my Niece Cierra here the past two days may have been a little much for me. They were all pretty good, infact, the only really trouble I had was with my own kids. Ainsley and Nic had a few tired and grumpy moments. Nothing that wasn't easlily remedied with a time out or a nap.

The house looks like 5 young'ns had free run of the place. I'll need to do some serious pick up the house work this weekend. Sometime between yard work and Easter bustle.

The yard is moving along. I'm still working on the fire pit area. Hey, it's a large area with a curved wall that spans multiple levels. I can't wait to finish this particular section. When I'm finally finished, my walls will actually resemble something useful(hopefully).

The kids are complaining about sand being everywhere, especially their beds. It's so inevitable. Truely the sand is comming in the house by the gallon. I can't wait for grass just to dial down the dirt factory that is the backyard.

The Easter Bunny is Evil

As we were looking at the pictures from the hunt this last Saturday Nic informed me that he doesn't like the Easter Bunny.

"Why not?" I asked him, "Isn't he a good guy?"

"Nope, he's a bad guy" Nic responded.


I guess the Easter Bunny is evil so steer clear everyone or he'll suck out your soul.

While I waited at home for Lowes to deliver my 325 blocks, Kenny took the kids to EMSL for the Battelle easter egg hunt. The kids got to see the Easter Bunny and they brought home lots of loot!

Progress

These pictures are way old. But it's a great way to show the step by step process I'm going through with these heavy ass bricks. Actually I've gotten quite far with my wall building. I've started working on carving out the little patio/fire pit area we're going to have just below the existing porch outside of our backdoor, I'll have to get pictures of that area up tomorrow.

I ordered 325 retaining wall blocks delivered to the house, it'll save me a lot of precious time and energy not having to go to the store a gagillion times. Loading them in and out of the truck wasn't worth it. It was only 50 bucks to have a guy with a flat bed and a fork lift put them in my drive way. It was worth every penny.

6 Feet Under

Kenny and I finished the HBO syndicate Six Feet Under, showing on Bravo. Bravo is kind enough to play 3 episodes weekly so it's not too hard to get through the series in a relatively short amount of time.

Six Feet Under is a dark comedy/drama about a family run funeral home run by the Fishers. The father dies and the two sons inherit the family business. The series takes you through the individual lives of the Fisher family members. How they respond to tragedy and how they help each other through some tough times. While sometimes the amount of "real life" reflection may seem over the top, the show does a good job portraying moments of life that we all try to hide from others. It questions some of our human and cultural rituals and explains others.

I have to admit I was hooked from episode one. The Fisher Family is one of those families that you love simply because, for the most part, they make even my family look normal. Every character has traits that I love and hate. All of them have their little crazy moments (or years) and I actually began acting like a family member as I got into the series because I knew better than they did about how they should be acting or what so and so should of done.

Anyway I highly recommend watching the series. Set your TIVO for Six Feet Under, Bravo will restart the series tonight with the first 3 episodes. They will show them again next Monday in case you don't set your TIVO in time.
