Pampered Fun

Had a great little Pampered Chef party last night. I signed up for this party in October at the Bethlehem Lutheran Fall Frolic, but I just got the call back a few weeks ago to book the party. Kenny took all the kids plus his niece away for the night and 7 ladies came over for food and gab and fun. It was nice to have some grown up time and also nice to not be working on the walls. The consultant made an Aloha pizza, with BBQ sauce and diced chicken and pineapple, and a strawberry almond sandwich thing with a whipped topping that was incredibly yummy. I think everyone had a good time. I did.

They are putting all the Pampered Chef products that I purchased 5 years ago on the back shelf and running a whole new line of nifty gadgets. The stoneware is basically the same and a few other Pampered Chef "staples" ie. food chopper and stay sharp knives. But other than that everything has a new trendy look to it and basically makes my old stuff seem, well, old!

I bought $30.00 worth of liquor for the party but none of my lush friends showed up, so the margarita mix stayed in the refridgerator and I ended up having a few with Kenny after the party insead. They were quite tasty.

Arbor Day Fun

Friday, April 27th is National Arbor Day this year.

Earlier this year, my Camp Fire kids participated in a Candy Sale to help earn money for the council... we get a small percentage of the proceeds for our club treasury. I figured we'd spend the money on a BBQ/Picnic for Arbor Day. I contacted the City of Pasco Parks Department and asked if it was possible for my group to plant a tree in a local park. They responded very quickly. They want to supply the tree and pre dig the hole and have media covering it. I swear in my email to them, I said, "SMALL Camp Fire club." The Parks Facilities Manager even invited the Mayor, though she could not guarantee her presence.

So, what I was planning on being a small activity for the kids suddenly has gotten to be a big deal. I think that the planting the tree portion of it is pretty much planned, now I have to put together a picnic. Since the city is donating the tree, our budget for the picnic is much larger, so I should be able to put together something fun!

Starting to Resemble Something Usefull

I did all I was attempting to do this weekend. Considering it rained all day yesterday, thats pretty good. All the work I'm doing is finally starting to resemble something usefull. I hope to be finished by next Sunday! I have Camp Fire this week and a Pampered Chef Party on Friday so we'll see how much of that thought actually happens.
