We're in the midst of planning for Chloe's mad scientist birthday party. We're collecting parts for a mad scientist gun building competition. I need more tube like things and some radar looking things. I'll be picking up some hot glue guns soon so the kids have some gun adhesive to hold everything together. I'm really excited to see what kind of laser beams and shrink rays they come up with.
Kenny and I built a Van de Graaff generator on Sunday. It worked for a bit but now it doesn't work... we'll need to work on it more this week.
I'm getting jars ready for body part preservation, it should be a great decoration.
I've ordered test tubes, beakers and some Erlenmeyer flasks for evil effects.
My friend Rachel is going thrift store shopping with me Thursday to buy stuffed animals, I plan on dissecting them and building creatures like hippobears and ponymonkeys. They're going to decorate the genetic engineering corner where the kids get to design their own monstrosities.
September birthdays are great for mad scientist parties, all the halloween stores are open now and there is an endless supply of body parts, rats and caution tape.
Ainsley tells me she wanted a mad scientist birthday first and Chloe stole her idea... So I suppose I'll have to keep my eye out after halloween for clearance body parts.
Chloe reminds me everyday how many days are left till her party. I feel the time slipping. I don't even have invites out yet. I was experimenting with invisible inks but I think that I'm just going to type something up instead.
I have to find some hidden motivation to clean, I'm sure it will hit me... I just hope it comes before the night before the party.
