Money, Money, Money By The Pound

I called and canceled my Oral Surgery. It just makes more sense for me to wait untill January when my insurance will cover most of it instead of now when they won't cover hardly any of it. We really need the money for finishing the back yard anyway. I hate backing out of thing like that, but for $1200.00 it was worth it.

What a Nob!

I can't believe what a nob I am. I showed up tonight, at a craft group and I didn't bring a craft. I have 12 or so sitting around here, but nothing is together and ready to be made.

So I showed up thinking it was a stamp night, I've never stamped and I didn't know what to expect. I asked if I needed anything and I was told to bring a project. . . the only thing I could think of was that I had to think of a project idea, and a few days from mothers day my project would have to be mothers day cards.

*shrugs* I was so out of the loop, I show up and there were needle point projects, knitting and quilting. I had nothing :P Slightly embarrassed, I left and went home thinking I could get that fabric. (Remember the blog about me making the kids summer clothes.) I actually got as far as putting the materials in my car before I realized that I had to prewash the fabric before I could cut it out. Silly silly me!!! *heavy sigh* Eh well, next time I go, I'll know what to expect and I'll be more prepared.

Entomologistita

Ainsley is petting her pet cockroach. She says she's playing with it. It sits in her hand on her lap as she watches TV. Wierdo! My future entomologist. I broke her cage yesterday while trying to clean it out... so he's in a temporary bug catching container It barely fits his water bowl and some bedding. I'll have to replace it for her. I think I'll get some cockroach bedding this time. He's not too happy with the hamster stuff.

Lazy Day

So yesterday I got a call from my Grandmother at 8 am. She asked if she could bring by my aunt and cousins so they could see the house. We've been here a year and not had them over yet. I said sure and told them 7:00 would be a good time.

Stress insued and I went into cleaning mode. I've been around them when they've criticized other people. I knew the standard, probably why I've not "invited" them over. So I spent all day yesterday making the house look like we don't live here. The visit was nice, my cousins baby is a cutie. My grandma got to see my little garden, she enjoyed all the colors.

Anyway the house is spotless, if you want to visit now would be a great time :) I've cleaned every nook and crany and now I'm taking a lazy day off. I feel very relaxed and pleased with everything. We're going to the park for lunch and I'm not stressed out at all about loading the kids up. It's going to be a nice day.

Crazy

Well here I am, once again, waiting for contact from the outside. I look at my email maybe 20 times an hour. Nothing except one SPAM. I check for comments on my Blog, alas nothing there either. I look at my calendar, just because it's another site that belongs to me. Not much has changed there. I harasse the few people on my IM contact list but not too much because I don't want them to take me off their list. I checked Karcaw's Minions site but other than the story I posted last week nothing there is new either. And then I start the cycle again. . . email, calendar, Blog, IM, Karcaws Minions. I get up and pick up a few things around the house and 5 minutes later I do the same thing again. And always I get the same results, very little, if any, activity. Just call me crazy.

We Built a Wall

Finally some progress on the backyard. We had a very successfull work party on saturday, many showed up to help us with the immense work we're having to face this summer with terracing our back yard to make it usefull. A HUGE THANK YOU to Ken and Joan, Evan and boys, Kevin, Nate and my mother-in-law Lori for helping out with the labor and thank you to Lori T. for babysitting the swarm of kids that had to be occupied while we attempted to get some work done.

Work started about 10am and of course I really didn't get to put much back into things as I was fricken busy driving to the store 10 or so times during the day to procure needed equpment and food items necessary for completion of the wall. I wouldn't have more than 30 minutes or so between equipment runs before I'd be sent for something else. It was exhausting.

When we finally realized we were going to be short for even the current two foot wall that we were working on, I was sent to Beaver Bark to get more rail road ties. Unfortunately their Rail Road Ties were shitty looking and at a glorious price of $19.00 each I was reluctant to buy even the 8 that I went for. They sent out the oldest most decrepit, stupid man that works at the Nursery and It took him almost an hour to load up the 8 that I drove home with.

Suprisingly the work was just about done when we got back. We finished up about 5 more deadmen and we were done with all that we could do with the lack of decent railroad ties.

Nate was called back to his house to drive his wife to the hospital, she has a badly sprained ankle that may be broken. Since she was watching all the kids we sent along Lori (Ken's Mom) to take her place. I ended up driving out to keep her company while the guys relaxed playing some old school Sonic the Hedgehog games on our Playstation 2.

Well on Sunday (today) I called around to a few more nursery centers in hopes that I could find one open and find some more rail road ties. We found some at Mac's Garden center on the corner of Road 68 and Court street in Pasco. The Ties were in much, MUCH better condition than the ones I got from Beaver Bark and they were 13.00 each. They sent out two strapping young men to help load them in a very efficient manner and we took two trips and delivered 26 ties to our backyard in less than 30 minutes. Needless to say we plan on returning the 8 crappy ones to BB and buying the rest we need from Mac's. After unloading all those today and doing all the work yesterday we're pretty pooped. We plan on lounging around the rest of the day watching Stargate SG1.
