So, ya... my second blog about an astrophysicist. Something about those guys is hot!
Anyway, I love NOVA... It's a show I can remember watching with my Dad when I was Nic's age. The thing is, I have come to realize that unless the show is on a subject that I am really into, my attention span isn't good enough for a whole hour on 1 topic any longer. I am a product of an ADD society. From web surfing, channel surfing, fast food and other forms of instant gratification we want our science information in the same way, short and sweet.
Neil deGrasse Tyson and his show NOVA Science Now takes a great program like NOVA and breaks it down into small digestable chunks for todays ADD viewers. It's like reading a science magazine. There are several short articles on different science topics and they're always and broken down very simplisticly so it's entertaining to everyone in the house. Neil has a great sense of humor and he never leaves me bored with the product he delivers.
Way to go PBS and way to go Neil deGrasse Tyson. What a great show. Check out NOVA Science Now.

New Look
(you can start to see the paint on the walls)
BBQ
Our Camp Fire USA club had a BBQ last night to raise a bit of money (gift cards) we gave the cards to Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Co.
The BBQ was fun, it seemed like everyone had a good time. Games were played, good food was shared, kids ran themselves ragged and adults chatted up on the porch.
The weather was worrisome the past 4 days or so. Not only was the temperature hanging out over 105, but occasional rain bursts and thunderstorms also threatened the shindig. I was cleaning my house so dramatically because I had envisioned 30 people hanging out in my house huddled around the air registers. But, I needed not to worry, because the weather broke for us. It was under 100 most of yesterday and when it was time for the party it was in the comfortable low 80's.
I am exhausted! I have been cleaning my house for 6 days seemingly non-stop. Weeding outside, cleaning the back yard up, relocating computer crap, shampooing the carpet, painting a little (still will have to do more of that even thought the party is over) and a bit of redecorating to make things look cleaner in here.
Today is my day off! (ya, right) I'm supposed to sit back and relax today. Enjoy my semi "after the party" clean house and rest. Except I have some laundry to do, oh and I better take those library books back. Seems like it won't be completely rest full.
BTW my new laptop is coming... I'm using the TV/media center to do all my blogging for awhile. But when it get's here Ken might have a hard time getting me to do the laundry for a bit. Better try to get ahead now for my planned laziness.
