28... Don't usually get excited about my own birthdays. But I sure do feel happy about this one. No real reason, just feeling good! My classes are going great, the family is happy/healthy, I love being a Camp Fire leader, I finished the hardscaping in my nightmare yard and my GW's character received her skill hunter title.
I'll probably spend the day cleaning for my LAN party tomorrow. But thats okay, I have company next week and it'll mean one less thing for me to think about doing in preparation for that. Not to mention I love LAN parties and I can't wait to have a house full of übernerds glazed over infront of their computer screens. Happy Day :)
Need to find a minute to go snack shopping and stock the house full of tasty treats for tomorrow, got to buy my brother and mom a birthday present too. We're all sorta bunched togther here at the beginning of August. I think I may rip out some ugly mums in the front garden. They get incredibly HUGE and covered with miniscule flowers. They didn't look so huge and hideous when I purchased them for the garden. I bought them because they were short.
So I seems like I have a lot to do today. Better pry myself away from the computer and get moving. Hope you all are doing great too!

Camp Tenney 2007
Last month we had a great Camp Fire activity for all the kids. Since our councils camp is so far away in Northern Idaho we decided to have a little camp out in the Tenney's backyard. It has a wooded feel and is fenced in, it also is close to some beds for Megan and Hailey who are both young and have some special needs. It went great!
We had 100% attendance and the kids all had a great time. Mr. Tenney set up a treasure hunt, complete with compass and degree/paces clue cards. The kids were introduced to using a compass and learned a little about degrees in a circle. We made scrap book pages using pictures of camp fire meetings taken throughout the last school year. We had a small camp fire and made smores.
The kids snuck off and told scary scary stories to eachother. (I love their scary stories, each sentance begins with "and then"... Chloe went into the dark spooky forest. And then she was scared. And then monster eyes looked at her. And then she was EATEN BY THE MONSTER!") It was great listening to them make up their own stuff. And the giggle that rolled from their own little circle of light was too cute.
Most of the kids slept all night in the tents, it took them a while to settle down but when they finally were able to stay quiet they all passed out from their busy day. Lori and I made pancakes, eggs, waffles, sausages and bacon for breakfast on Saturday. After breakfast, the kids played in the sprinklers and on slip n'slide and we had another small fire for a little one that passed out too early and missed the fire festivities the previous night.
Look at the pics, it was lots of fun!
