Hooray! Winter quarter is over. I got A's in Art and Computer Science, and I am expecting something around a B in Algebra. I have something like withdrawal symptoms. I feel like I should be doing homework, there is some guilt for not doing any. I'm happy that I'm able to relax, but still the guilt remains. My babies art finished up nice, it's with my instructor now for grading, and I have to tweak it a bit for an art show, but I should be getting a final photo of it up soon. I am just now starting to get the hang of Algebra but alas the class is over. I don't suppose it'll be the same as my finite math course next quarter, and I have to endure the uncomfortable feeling of being out of my element all over again.
It's a good thing that spring break is here. The house has been suffering the past three months. I cleaned the gross stinky kitchen last night and guess what? There is a sink and a counter in there! I was even able to do a load of dishes this morning so the kitchen is still clean... more than 12 hours later! It's just amazing.
There still is about 2 pickup loads of dirty laundry to be washed. I'm working on it. Thankfully the weather is nice and I can put a lot of them out on the line to dry, that saves me so much time.
I think I'm going to edge part of the front yard this afternoon, the yard is pretty bad. It's crawled up over the sidewalk, and it needs to be de-thatched. The garden has a lot of rotting vegetation in it from last year, overwintered carrots, a pile of tomato bushes all gross and decaying and several rotting cucumber plants. I'm not even going to discuss the yearly tack weed battle. After clean-up I plan on covering all the bare soil with black plastic... I don't want to mess with a garden this summer, school is hard enough by itself. I think we'll have one or two plants for the kids and that's it. I just don't have the time to battle the weeds and mess with the water.
I bought toilet safe cat litter today and some disposable roasting pans. I'm going to begin transitioning my cats to use the toilet here in the next week. I am not a person of habit (unless that habit is procrastination) So litter box maintenance is not something I do well. Teaching the cats to use the potty will be a huge weight off my shoulders and one less smelly thing to worry about in this house, (which is a huge deal).
Hopefully it'll be a productive spring break. One with house work, yard work, cat toilet training and garage cleaning.
