Halloween Already

So it may be a little early, but I'm really putting a lot of thought and soon to be work into my halloween costume this year. I'm planning a guild wars halloween costume. I'm really exicted about making one but as I go through all of the different armor designs I have realized that I may be quite chilly if I pick the wrong one. There is one outfit that has a corset involved, if I'm not carefull I may fall out! So I am going to do my best to make a costume that can be worn in more places than my bedroom.These are the costumes I'm looking at mostly because, get this, they're some of the more simple designs.
I mean basically the far left costume is a corset, a shrug, some tight pants, and hip high boots. No fancy gauntlets or crazy multi-layered boots or expensive to make velvet duster!

As much as I like some of the many other armor sets in Guild Wars I can't spend hundreds of dollars putting them together. There are some great sites to find midevil boots and designer elven jewelry and cos play wigs. I just have to narrow the list down to the "most" affordable sites and pick some of my materials. I have a feeling fredricks of hollywood will be my friend with this project, or I can make a shrug for the ele costume instead of a corset. Anyway, this has been on my mind the past few days.

Glasses, Wall, Summer!

Chloes new glasses came in yesterday and we went to go have them fitted to her little head today. She was so excited to get them and she has been wearing them ever since. She's very proud of them, I hope she doesn't get teased too much. She likes them so.

I have finally finished the retaining wall project yesterday. My friend Lori came over to help me with the last 20 blocks and the last little bit went in quite quickly. I'm a bit sore today,actually quite sore. My arms are screaming in agony and I sprained my ankle so I'm in fine shape.

Today is the last day for afternoon kindergarten. Chloe is excited to be able to show off her glasses before school is out. She is sad to say goodbye to her friends and her school. Next year she'll be going to Ruth Livingston Elementary with her sister.

Working in the Yard

Well, I'm probably down to the last 50 or so blocks. I'm really excited, I can't wait to get this heavy work out of the way. After that, putting in sprinklers and leveling the yard will be comparitavely easy.

I have a few things in my way today. Tenney kids come over this afternoon and I really need to do a few "in house" chores, ie laundry thats been on the couch for a week. But I should be able to finaggle some time to put the blocks out. Ah, wing night is tonight to, after gymnastics :P Well I better get working looks like after 2:00 there won't be much time for working in the yard.

A Cool 91 Degrees

FRICK! Who turned on July?

So, it's that time again where I start complaining about the heat. Yesterday was a miserable 101. Stagnant, hot air... sun blazing... relentless convection oven conditions. It was a joy to do yard work in. You may have guessed work came to a hault at about 11am and didn't pick up again till after 7pm. I even borrowed some work lights so I could see outside after the sun went down, being that is the only cool enough time to do manual labor.

I called several stores at about 3pm yesterday to find some patio misters. They seemed to be all the rage last summer and I was looking forward to getting some to cool us off while we worked. But each store had the same response, "we should be getting some in, but we didn't expect to have over 100 degree weather so soon" Poo! So I went online to try to get some. I found Cool Patio Misting System. This summer it'll have to do on the insta shade canopy we have. I can't wait for it to get here.

Today is looking much better. At a cool 91 degrees, I might actually get some work done before the sun goes down. I have to work fast though, the forcast is for stormy weather for the next few days.
