For the past few years or so (since Kenny started trimming his hair extra short) I have been the one to trim Kenny's hair. After about 3 weeks he starts to resemble a baby duckling. I should be trimming it every 2 weeks. But, as with every thing I do, I procrastinate and it happens about once every 2 months. His uncle Bob (same hairdo way less hair) uses a small trimmer after he shampoos in the shower. Taking a tip from him, I got Kenny a wet/dry Norelco Trim & Shave in hopes that he might get a hair cut a lot more frequently than once season.
I went to go plug it in to charge it up today and noticed that the packaging was broken... after inspection of the razor I noted that it smelled of aftershave and when I removed the trimmer's head there was HAIR. NASTY, NASTY, NASTY!!! So gross, what retarded Customer Service Clerk put a used trimmer back on the shelf for me to buy. Icky, YUCK!!!
Needless to say I exchanged the trimmer for a new one that is in a SEALED package. I specifically requested that the returned, USED ONE, not be put back on the shelf.

Short Skirt, Long Jacket
Man, I love that song.
I've been watching 'That 70's Show' a lot recently. There is no better way to end the day than with a few cheap laughs. Donna is so hot, I really really wish I could look like her, but seeing as she makes me look like a skinny toothpick dwarf, besides heavily sculpting my eyebrows and dying my hair... that will probably never ever happen. As far as hot red heads on TV I've been desiring to emulate, Kari Byron (Myth Busters) comes in a close second. At least with her I don't have a contest with height and I can leave my poor eyebrows alone.
Anyway, I've been watching 'That 70's Show' and even though "Hot Donna" doesn't wear a lot of skirts, skirts are a major wardrobe item for most of the actresses. I think they are so cute... I need to get my sewing machine out though because I don't think finding reproductions of any of those will be very easy. During my bouts of "She's so hot, I wish I could get hair like that!" and "That Skirt is soooo cute" The conversation always goes to the fact that I don't hardly ever wear skirts. I never have. In Jazz choir (in 8th grade) girls were supposed to wear black skirts. But, of course, the feminist in me would never let that happen. The fact that it was a requirement really pissed me off. Thats why I wore slacks! (I'm such a rebel, lol)
Yesterday, being Valentines Day, I decided I'd dress up for my husband and went out to buy a SKIRT! I went to KOHL's and bought a skirt, a nice shirt and since I was jumping off the edge I went and picked up some nice knee high suede leather boots. I came home and tried them on and sat in them for a bit... I REALLY had a hard time being comfortable with myself in them. You spend your life with a particular self image (mine being jeans and a tshirt and shaggy auburn hair) and it's hard to squeeze yourself into something you're not used to. I wasn't sure if my shirt went with my skirt, or if the boots went with the outfit. I mean when I see the ladies shopping for the weekly groceries at WalMart, I always think they look ridiculous (why the hell would anyone dress up for WalMart?) But if I went to WalMart would they think I looked ridiculous? I mean no matter what I I couldn't tell if the clothing worked! (This is what happened to those old guys in Florida who still wear the white belts and polyester pants)
I was so uncertain about my purchases that I decided I needed to buy more to have a selection to choose from. I dressed back into my jeans and tshirt (don't want to be to dressy at the store, people might think I was weird) I went to Fred Meyer and bought a matching shirt and skirt (size 5 juniors it's gotta fit. And they are sold together, no questions about matching or not.) I went to goodwill on the way out of Richland and picked up two jean skirts and red casual shirts (figure if I'm not comfortable in dressy, surely a JEAN skirt will be a compromise)
While I was at Fred Meyer I picked up a long gray jacket! It's awesome, especially with the boots.
When I got home the skirt and shirt set were too big and the shirt had a ridiculously large bow on the chest. (I'm so lost are bows cool now?) So the set was out. The jeans and red shirts were too casual, so it went back to my original KOHL's purchase.
When it got right down too it, Kenny thought I was hot and that was all that matters. Though I probably could of worn sweat pants and a ratty t-shirt and been hot to him :)
We went to Imperial Buffet got to eat right away instead of an hour wait. We hadn't tried it yet and were both impressed on how nice it was for a buffet. The food was quite tasty and the building is quite nice.
Kenny bought me a cute pink flower arrangement in a cute froggy mug. It's by my computer so I can feel happy all the time I'm sitting in my computer chair trying to get comfortable in a skirt.

Candy Sale Off to a Good Start/Service Project Moving Slowly
Well, the club candy sale is off to a roaring start thanks to Miss Cierra's picture being on the box this year. We got tons of attention on TV, Radio and in the News Paper. I'm already contemplating ordering more to sell. I'm sure, the way things are going, that the kids who want to go to camp, can get the discount they need to afford it. Some people don't realize how expensive camp is and at the same time how much the councils loose through operations. It's amazing that they can stay in business and easy to see why the council in this area disbanded.
I've been working on the service project particulars for the kids. If you didn't know, they chose 'feeding hungry people' for their service project. I contacted Domestic Violence and we decided to collect $20.00 gift cards for them to give to families in need at the shelter. I was hoping that some type of potluck dinner could be arranged. At ones I've been to in the past there was a basket at the front of the line where people dropped their monetary donations as they made their way through the chow line. Alas, I'm having difficulty finding a building to house the feast. We may have to wait until the weather warms up and have it at a park. I'll probably contact some other local service organizations and see what others have done for similar functions.
Anyway, Nic is pouting for the computer... better relinquish the keyboard.
