Irrigation District Cut Down The Trees!

I came home from lunch with Kenny today to the delightfull sight of the irrigation district, hard at work, removing some unsightfull messy trees that were growing along the canal bank. It really has opened up our view of the valley and mountains.

P.S. You can see my mound of dirt hasn't really been moved yet. Is anyone up for a Steak BBQ and dirt hauling sometime soon.

Say Goodbye to the Sacks in the Back

Like any good Mom, I couldn't resist posting this embarrassing picture of Malcolm wearing his stylish elizabethan collar. He just looked too cute in it. All night his body language just expressed defeat. Droopy face, ears and tail. My mom sent him on a POPs (Pet Overpopulation Prevention) run to be neutered yeseterday. We wern't up for the 250.00 neuter charge our vet quoted us on and POPs did it for us for a donation. Granted, I'll probably donate $100.00, still way more affordable than a local vet. Thank you POPs!

We had to have this done by the end of the month, the city went door to door last month looking for evidence of dogs. They're in full force for pet licensing violations. $50.00 to register my unaltered dog, free for my altered pet. I needed to have it done anyway, the city just put me on a deadline.

Anyway, it's done now and Malcolm is being tortured and humiliated by his mommy.

Knack for Spotting Actors in Shows

I enjoy spotting actors known or unknown in TV shows and films. Some of my most recent, happy finds include spotting "The Doctor" from first season of the new Dr. Who, wandering the streets of New York as a man with the capability to be invisible on the NBC series Heroes and Harry Dresden from The Dresden Files has also been recently seen as a Dr. with Leprosy dating Natalie Tieger on MONK.

Nothing tickles me more than thinking I see a certain actor, nothing more except maybe hopping on IMDB and proving it. Yes, there are some that just look familiar and don't turn anything up. But usually I can call where I've seen a certain actor and gleefully announce that I was right!

Long Slow Crawl Out From Under WaMu

Well, we did it! We finally closed our WaMu checking and savings accounts. We had left them open untill we knew that all the arranged auto payment stuff had been transferred to our new bank. Now we just have 2 credit cards "owned" by WaMu to close and we can finally put them behind us. It's some pretty big numbers though and It'll be a long slow crawl to get out from under them. But the disgust with them is pretty strong. It's a good motivator for me anyway. We probably won't get what I'd like to get done on the back yard this year, but WaMu will be going away!
