Today was the end of the beginning. Of school, that is. Yup, I'm all finished with English 101. I guess third time is a charm. It went a lot smoother this time than it did in 97' Actually, I'm glad that I waited until now to retake it this last time. Being a bit older really made concentrating on studying a whole lot easier. The class went well, I got high grades on my essays, and I think I actually learned quite a bit. I'm even fretting about how high my grade is going to be even though it is going to be an A (I'd love it to be 4.0). I've never done that, I was always content with getting a C in high school. My Art 110 went well too, again very high grades all quarter. I do have to say that I worked a whole lot harder at Art than I expected to. There is a lot more reading and studying involved than I think students realize. Don't take Art 110 just to get an elective out of the way easily, it is harder than it sounds.
Hopefully this means I can contribute to the blog a bit more for the next few weeks, that is, before Math 95, Design 1, and Intro to Internet Technology start up in January. Kenny has promised me personal math tutoring, if not from him, from one of the many math inclined friends we have. I have my fingers crossed that if I apply myself like I did in English, it will be a breeze.

I'm sure you'll do great with your next classes too. I know I am no math wiz (especially in high school,) and when I took 95 through pre-calc down in Eugene I managed to get A's. My college GPA is 3.987, I'd never thought I'd be able to pull that off. So if I can do it, you can do it. I think you're right, as an adult I'm much better able to set my priorities and set myself to study if I need to, a very helpful skill I didn't have just out of highschool
Ughh Math! Evan is an awesome tutor if he ever has time to help out. He helped me with my math problems when I took math 95. Of course I failed the course cuz I kept cutting class and didn't show up for the final. Beware the evil voice that says, "I can sleep a little longer."
