Our friends had their cocker spaniel spayed a little while back. She still has stitches so the kids have to be careful around her. On the way home from school there was a very interesting discussion about the whole thing.
Kenzie: Hey you guys should come over to my house and play Mario Galaxy!
Ainsley and Chloe agreed and asked permission. I said it was fine as long as Kenzie's mom said it was okay.
Kenzie: But Jedda is REALLY sick and we needed to take her to have surgery. Surgery is where you cut a dog in half and then sew him back up. That's what surgery is. So we'll have to be careful and not get her excited.
Chloe: Ya, Malcolm had that too. Mom didn't want him to have babies so we took him to get cut in half and they sewed him up again.
Meanwhile, I'm just driving and taking it all in with a big grin on my face. I love hearing their definitions. Somehow, when us adults explain things, the messages don't get translated quite the same in their little heads.

Kids say the funniest things!!! Keep on sharing them for us non-parents cuz we get a kick out of 'em.
